This and many other questions are the ones you need to ask Arcand’s heroes, academics and intellectuals. First, we find them in the best age obsessed with to a lesser extent with work, and to a greater one with love and sex. In the midst of culture and entertainment they try to reflect the consumerist life around them, themselves trapped in their desires for us to see them twenty years later face to face with death, weighing up their lives.
