EUROKONTEXT.SK 2017 – edition: Civilisation Impeding Civilisation

The international festival Eurokontext.sk 2017 will be held from 10 to 20 June.

The event has already drawn an abundance of early birds who grasped the opportunity to obtain advance tickets to some of the seven featured international performances. As many as 310 people have already taken up the first minute offer.

Encounter presented the Budapest-based Vigszínház theatre and directed by the Enikő Eszényi who enjoys quite popularity in Bratislava, has encountered major interest among our early birds. Many others have been drawn by the drama Othello by the National Theatre of Iceland that will make its first-ever appearance in Slovakia. Classics didn’t escape the early-bird attention either, be it Ibsen’s drama An Enemy of the People brought by the Old Theatre in Krakow, or Roland Schimmelpfennig’s Turn On / Turn Off by the National Theatre Mannheim. Other featured international theatre companies are also anticipated with keen interest.

From 10 to 20 June the well-established international festival Eurokontext.sk will showcase, in addition to the seven international companies, ten productions by the SND Drama Company either in première or as recent laureates of different prizes.  The encompassing theme Civilisation Impeding Civilisation bears current charge.

All performances shall be accompanied with subtitles in Slovak and English.
